I was born and raised in southwest Michigan where I earned my B.A. from Kalamazoo College with foreign study at the University of Nairobi. I love reading, writing, and teaching others the power of language. My first year teaching, I ditched the winter weather for the eternal summers of San Antonio, where I met my husband, Troy. Together we have enjoyed decades of adventures learning, traveling, and competing as a family. Troy is the Warrior Head Volleyball Coach and Girls Athletic Coordinator. Our youngest son attends ITM, and our oldest son attends the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I am excited to continue my RLA teaching career as a Brave on the BEST team---fifth grade!
